Pulling Up

Now that he's learned to pull himself up, Ezra loves to do this all day long. I think his crawling days are numbered!

When you're happy and you know it...

Here Ezra shows off his new found clapping skills. I showed him clapping on Friday and he was clapping all weekend. He even clapped when Grandpa Edgecomb walked through the door!

I love Toby and he loves me!

Standing up!

Going for a ride!

Hiking in Daddy's New Backpack

One of Nick's Christmas presents was a snazzy new backpack for serious hiking. It's been an unusually cold (Yet somehow still snowless) winter here, so we haven't done any long hikes yet, but here we are trying out for the first time on the trails at Ivy Creek Natural Area. Obviously Ezra finds it to be very comfortable.

Brooke & Bob come for a visit

We had a wonderful visit with Brooke & her husband Bob in Early January. Ezra Looooved playing with them both. I think they had a little fun too.

Learning to Crawl

It all started with the present from Aunt Mary. It was apparently so exciting that Ezra was finally induced from his sitting position into this sprawl on the floor. That was about all of the movement he would muster for several weeks. He'd sprawl out and then get frustrated.

Around mid January Ezra started the backward scoot. Here he is showing it off. He really is this happy!

Now he is opting for the army crawl, and he's pretty quick at it. He'll get up on his knees once in a while, but doesn't stay that way long.

First Words

Okay, it's been a ridiculously long time since I posted. It all started when I forgot to take my camera to Christmas day at my mom's, and I've been in a posting funk since then. But today, there is some big news. News that a camera didn't capture, so it requires a post.

That's right, Ezra said his first words. I'm not actually sure it qualifies for the plural description, because it was the same word, but he did say it several times. So what were the first words out of the mouth of our genius babe? "Night night." Clear as day, and in immediate response to my telling him to say "night night" to everyone.

Surely, there will be sceptics out there (like my husband) who will think that this was just baby babble. In fact, I now realize that he has been practicing trying to say this for a while. It just never happened at a time that I recognized it as intentional. Anyway, Veronica & I agree that he clearly said "night night."
